Building on R∧D from the Lifelong Kindergarten at MIT's Media Lab, the Playful Invention Company ("PICO") asked us to develop a gender-neutral robotics set that would highlight improved technology, appeal to boys and girls and provide a friendly introduction to technology and computer programming through creative play. Without a large marketing campaign it received critical acclaim upon its 2006 release and outsold initial projections within a matter of months. This is a bamboo cutting board for OXO. The challenge of this project was to integrate a new material - bamboo - into the OXO brand.
The rubber edges make it easy to pick up and provides stability while cutting. There are two different sizes in the line.
